About Eric Kruse:
Eric Kruse is a professional percussion educator, composer, and audio engineer. For the past 15 years, he has composed and arranged for percussion and electronics. Eric has always been drawn to the harmony of natural and synthetic sounds, and with his curiosity and creativity, he builds unique soundscapes that leave audiences captivated.
Eric currently serves as the Director and Program Coordinator for Black Diamond Percussion, Director of Drumline Activities for Colorado State University Pueblo and works with many local and national high school teams.
When Eric isn’t working with music, as an avid hiker and skier, he is out enjoying the nature and beauty Colorado has to offer.
Eric is a Remo® artist, and proud endorser of Vic Firth® sticks & mallets, Zildjian® cymbals, Tama® drums, and Winter Guard® Tarps.
About Joseph Musick:
Joe Musick currently resides in Colorado Springs, CO with his lovely wife Hannah, and dogs Ruxin and Ranger. When Joe is not writing or teaching, he enjoys hiking with his dogs, fishing, and snowboarding in the mountains of Colorado.
During the academic year, Joe is also the band director at Eagleview Middle School and designs/instructs at Air Academy High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He previously served as a band director at Moore Middle School, and Pomona High School in Arvada, Colorado.
Joe received his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder where he studied with Dana Biggs, Matthew Roeder, Terry Sawchuk and Allan McMurray.
Drum Corps has been an active part of Joe’s life for more than a decade. Joe was a marching member of the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps in 2002, the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps in 2004, and finished his marching career with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps from 2005-2007. His instructional career with drum corps started with the Spirit Drum & Bugle Corps where he was on staff for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. Joe was then fortunate to join the instructional staff of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2010 and was on staff through the 2013 season. During the 2013 season Joe served the drum corps as Brass Caption Head. Joe was the visual designer for The Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps from Provo, UT from 2015-2017.
As a designer and clinician, Joe has been active working with bands of various sizes. Joe has been a successful visual designer for drum corps, high school marching bands, and indoor ensembles around the country.
His passion for music education and program design has turned into a stimulating and fulfilling career, and he could not imagine doing anything else.
