Get YOUR DBIDS CARD through the USAFA, and get it as soon as you can! You’ll be driving on base a lot, and if the defense level increases, it’s best to have what you need before you need it

DBIDS Cards – Incoming Freshmen/New Families special instructions: MAY 2019

All parents and guardians of freshmen/new students for the 2019-2020 school year at Air Academy HS will need to obtain a DBIDS (Defense Biometrics Identification System) card to gain access to the Air Force Academy. (*ALL DRIVERS!)

FIRST, you need to be on your student’s Infinite Campus Extended Portal as a parent/guardian or authorized emergency contact.

GO to the Base Pass & Registration office located at the South Gate entrance off of N. Academy Blvd. *THE FIRST TURNOFF ON YOUR RIGHT AFTER THE HIGHWAY BRIDGE

WHEN: the last 2 weeks of May (20th-24th & 28th-31st) between hours of 9:00AM-4:00PM.

*NOTE-the base is LOCKED DOWN Tuesday May 28th from 10-2 for USAFA graduation rehearsal, and CLOSED for part of Thursday May 30th for USAFA graduation*

BRING YOUR UP-TO-DATE :

•driver’s license

•vehicle insurance

•vehicle registration

They will run a quick background check, take your photo and issue your ID card. This process could take upwards of 30 minutes to complete.

OPEN: Monday-Friday (closed holidays and for special events) please go between the hours of 9:00AM-4:00PM.

ALL DRIVERS need a DBIDS card. You have to be the student, or be listed as a parent/guardian or emergency contact on the student’s Infinite Campus Extended Portal.

Items needed in previous years *but this may have changed*  :

  • Current Driver’s License
  • Current Car Registration
  • Current Proof of Insurance

The issuing office is located just outside of the SOUTH GATE to the AFA.It’s the FIRST ROAD you can access on the RIGHT (just after you’ve passed over the HIGHWAY BRIDGE). The building is the first one ON THE LEFT.
