***Mandatory for all band/guard students***

DATES: 2020 Marching Band Camp

  • Mon-Thu 7/27/2020 – 7/30/2020 – 8:00am- 5:00pm
  • Mon-Thu 8/3/2020 – 8/6/2020 – 8:00am- 5:00pm

WHERE: AAHS BAND ROOM & BUS PARKING LOT

STUDENTS:

      • MUST WEAR:
            • HAT & SUNGLASSES
            • Comfortable sneakers & good wicking socks
            • AAHS Marching Band practice shirt *each student will receive ONE practice shirt as a result of fundraising*(parents/guardians: HINT buy at least 4 of these shirts when you get a chance at the BAND GEAR table– as they will get dirty and smelly – fresh one for each day! Extra practice shirts will be sold…  watch for the table!
            • Wear weather-appropriate, school dress-code compliant clothes
      • SHOULD BRING:
            • Instrument (plus reeds, oil, etc.)
              • NOTE: people often rent lower quality instruments for marching, because they get a lot of hard use…no wooden instruments, please!)
              • NOTE TO BARITONE(TROMBONE) MELLOPHONE(FRENCH HORN) and CONTRA(TUBA) PLAYERS: FOR MARCHING BAND We use Air Academy horns for your marching instruments. Tubas and baritone/trombone players, please bring a mouthpiece if you have one.
        • MUSIC and DRILL SHEETS 
        • Filled, large water jug, and DRINK YOUR WATER – personalize it as they all tend to look the same
        • SACK LUNCH & SNACKS
        • Sunscreen (HIGH SPF, wear it and re-apply frequently!)
        • Optional: kneepads (we rehearse on asphalt)
  • RAIN OR SHINE—we REHEARSE & make progress! If dangerous weather approaches, rehearsals are moved INDOORS!
