Band & Guard MINI Camp

*2019 dates June 3-5* Mon-Weds

TIME: 8am-4pm

Student information

BRING YOUR STUDENT ID (even if it’s an 8th grade ID)

IF YOU ARE A DRIVER, BRING YOUR DBIDS CARD

WHAT TO WEAR:

  • * A HAT & SUNGLASSES!!! *REQUIRED*
  • Comfortable sneakers
  • Weather-appropriate, School dress-code appropriate clothing
  • Good wicking socks
  • a white/light-colored tee-shirt

WHAT TO BRING

  • YOUR STUDENT ID (even if it’s from middle school. Gate guards will check it!)
  • your instrument (do not bring wooden or expensive instruments, rent them instead!)

***NOTE TO BARITONE (TROMBONE) MELLOPHONE(FRENCH HORN) and CONTRA(TUBA) PLAYERS: FOR MARCHING BAND We will use Air Academy horns for your marching instruments. Tubas and baritone/trombone players should bring a mouthpiece if you have one. ***

  • Have extra reeds, slide oil, etc. on hand
  • LARGE water jug – personalize it as they all tend to look the same and…DRINK YOUR WATER
  • SACK LUNCH & Snacks
  • Sunscreen (WEAR IT!)
  • Personal or prescription medications you may need

Optional: You may want to purchase kneepads (like volleyball team-style) to help when learning drill

AFTER THE FIRST REHEARSAL— ALSO BRING YOUR MUSIC AND/OR DRILL WITH YOU EVERY DAY

PARENT/GUARDIAN INFORMATION MEETING: Find out about the program, the 2019/20 Marching Season and School Year, and MORE! TUESDAY JUNE 4: 4pm-6pm in Filsinger Hall (school auditorium at AAHS)

Don’t be late. Drop the kids off as early at 7:30am, practice begins at 8:00-sharp!

There is not a sign-in for you to complete.

Students learn music and marching skills, and connect with their new classmates!

WHEN  you pick students up or drop them off, for the safety of all students–please DO NOT block the end of the walkway near the band room, follow band parking lot TRAFFIC FLOW—watch for pedestrians, and PARK VEHICLES ONLY in designated places. (SEE BELOW)
